UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - It could become easier to drive on the Interstate 275/Ohio 32 interchange in the Eastgate area of Clermont County.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Monday that it will open on Feb. 19 two new ramp configurations at I-275 and Ohio 32.

According to ODOT:

The northbound to westbound circle ramp will close permanently. All northbound traffic will exit at an existing eastbound ramp to the new traffic signal at Ohio 32. At this signal, motorists will have the option to travel east (right turn) or west (left turn) on Ohio 32.

The southbound to eastbound circle ramp will close permanently.  All southbound traffic will exit at an existing westbound ramp to the new traffic signal at Ohio 32. At this signal, motorists will have the option to travel east (left turn) or west (right turn) on Ohio 32.

ODOT said once complete traffic will not be restricted from traveling in either direction on Ohio 32 from I-275. It said the reconfigurations will eliminate four weave or merge points at the interchange.

ODOT said that will make access safer and easier for motorists entering and exiting I-275 and Ohio 32.

To make the change, lane closures in both directions of I-275 will start at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 and end by 6 a.m.. Feb. 19, weather permitting.
