Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Phase II

Project Scope:

The ITS Phase II project covered more than 50 county and municipal traffic signals across Clermont County. In addition to upgrading to energy-efficient LED displays and providing battery backup to each intersection, the project interconnected and synchronized some of these signals to create a well-timed, coordinated and monitored traffic system.

Community Benefit:

The new technology allowed the interconnected traffic signals to adapt to meet real-time traffic demands. The project resulted in reduced congestion, less stop-and-go traffic and overall improved safety.
