The intersection of Ohio 32 and Bach Buxton Road/Elick Lane will eventually be eliminated and a new interchange constructed in the area.

Just when you think it's green light and go on Ohio 32, this comes along.

Monday, Aug. 20 road construction returns to the eastbound lane of Ohio 32 from Gleneste-Withamsville Road to Olive Branch-Stonelick Road.

The project includes:

  • Resurfacing and widening to include a third eastbound travel lane
  • Resurfacing and pavement repairs on Ohio 32 between Interstate 275 and the eastern Batavia corporate limits
  • Upgrading traffic signals and drainage systems

The $9.5 million project is a portion of Phase 3 of the Eastern Corridor project: Work is scheduled for completion on this segment of the project in the fall of 2019.

More:Why more construction on Ohio 32? Because by 2030 it will carry 79,000 vehicles per day, projections say

Construction on an additional westbound travel lane is also planned but no start date has been announced.

Other construction in the area slated to begin in 2019 includes: the widening of Old Ohio 74 from Schoolhouse Road to Glen Este-Withamsville Road; improved access at Old Ohio 74 at Tealtown Road and Paul Drive; and the extension of Clepper Lane to Bach-Buxton Road.
