Old 74 Widening, Olive Branch-Stonelick to Armstrong Blvd. Improvements

Project Scope:

This project will make roadway improvements to Old State Route 74 between Olive Branch-Stonelick Road and Armstrong Boulevard. The total project length is approximately 0.7 miles. The project includes the widening of Old State Route 74 to include a center turn lane, increased shoulder width, new curb and gutter drainage, and pedestrian access. The project will include signal upgrades and improvements at the Olive Branch-Stonelick and Amelia-Olive Branch intersections.

Community Benefit:

The project will improve the safety, geometry, and access along this section of the Old State Route 74 corridor, it will support the recently completed Old State Route 74 extension to College Drive, and it will better accommodate expected traffic conditions.

Project Status

A road closure on Olive Branch-Stonelick Road at Old SR 74 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Weather permitting, this closure will continue through to Friday, May 5, 2017. The closure is located just west of Olive Branch-Stonelick Road to Amelia-Olive Branch Road on Old SR 74. Click here to read the full announcement and view the detour map.

On November 14, 2016, we began the first phase of this construction project. Old SR 74 between Olive Branch- Stonelick Rd. and Amelia-Olive Branch Rd. is now closed to widen the bridge on Old SR 74. Weather permitting, this closure will continue through Monday, April 10, 2017. Signage marks the detour route for local traffic within the project area.

Special note: There is also an alternate detour in place specifically for truck traffic traveling to this area from I-275. Details for both detours are shown below.
